Hinting Task for Huntington's Disease -HT-HD
Recruiting
The Hinting Task is a social cognition test measuring Theory of Mind through indirect speech and already proven valid in other psychiatric population.
Theory of mind(perspective taking) is the ability to understand and consider another person’s thoughts, feelings, and experiences, essentially seeing the world from their point of view.
Social cognition is the ability to perceive, interpret and respond correctly to social information. Social cognition problems can be related to behavioural problems, but to be able to study this relationship, it is important to have reliable tests measuring social cognition impairments.
The aim of this study is to assess if the Hinting Task is sensitive in patients with HD and to relate the Hinting Task to other (social) cognitive measures. 26 patients with premanifest HD and 26 patients with manifest HD will be recruited.
Neuropsychological assessment consisting of tests measuring social cognition and memory will be performed. The performance on the Hinting Task by patients with HD will be compared to healthy controls
